1. Remove and discard oxygen absorber.
2. Add 1 1/2 cups (360mL) of boiling water.
3. Stir well, seal pouch, wait 8 minutes.
4. Stir again, reseal, wait 7 more minutes. Enjoy!

I'm not sure why this had so many positive reviews - it was unremarkable and the rice never fully softened so the texture was unpleasant.

Expected to love it, couldn't eat it.

I made this meal at 10.2K elevation. I have a hard time finishing backpacking meals at altitude and I lean towards vegetarian meals while camping. I love all of the ingredients in this meal, and it's something I might make at home with fresh ingredients. I'll happily dump chili powder on my fresh meals at home, in chilis and stews and more.

However, the ratio on chili powder is overwhelming in a rehydrated meal. I'd like this same meal but with less chili powder so we can enjoy the rest of the flavors. I force fed about a quarter of a serving and then could not eat any more.

Tasty and good texture

This is one of the best freeze dried meals I've tried from the company. Vegan and GF - excellent! I thought it needed a bit of salt and salsa is a welcome addition as well. I reduced the water based on previous experiences and did end up using just a tiny bit less than was called for. Really nice meal to have on the shelf and 2 large portions.

Great Choice for Vegans!

This is an excellent recipe. Vegan backpacking entrees are not easy to come by, however the combination of spices make this a very tasty dinner. It should be a go to meal for most vegans! ...especially if you like quinoa. I also like the affordability Backpacker's Pantry. Thank you
