Hatch Green Chile Mac & Cheese

That’s was Outfreakingstanding!!! Way more flavor than regular Mac n cheese. One caveat, I did add half a can of Spam too it and the two went fabulously together. Wonderful product!

In fairness I didn't eat this. But my buddy did because he was tired of Mountain House Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast and was willing to try anything else. Judging my his reaction, he'll show up with 3 of these for our next trip. "Quite tasty, just the right amount of spicy, and good enough for any meal of the day."

The Hatch Green Chile Mac & Cheese tastes great and is very filling. This is one of my go to meals on long backpack trips.

We discovered this delicious Mac n cheese while hiking the AZT. We’ve since shared it with friends hiking the PCT and continually have to restock our own supply! It’s THAT good!!

Hatch Green Chile Mac & Cheese:
Seeing as I live just a few miles UP the road from Hatch, NM, I didn't have very high expectations for this meal. In NM, we are fed green chile from birth & it's an everyday staple, even found in apple pie, lasagna, and ice cream topping.
I was pleasantly surprised! Great green chile flavor (even had a little heat).
I'll definitely order more in the future.

The hatch green chili adds just the right amount of heat to take this mac and cheese to the next level. I add a packet of tuna or salmon to add additional protein and calories. This is my favorite freeze dried meal and I truly look forward to eating this one when I’m on the trail!

We love everything about this meal. The texture (unusual for Mac and cheese, more like real cheese than just cheese sauce), the flavor (no extra salt or pepper or sauces or seasoni gs needed), and the ease of preparation (make it in the bag and eat it out of the bag). It is the perfect meal to look forward to while you are slogging through a hard trek to find your next campsite, or to comfort you on those cold and rainy camp days.

I absolutely loved this meal, to the point I would buy it just to keep in my pantry for lunches. Great flavor and texture. Please don’t ever get rid of this, BP!

This meal has to be my favorite, my husband doesn't like Mac and Cheese and he actually likes this. We discover hatch green chile when we moved to the Southwest and since then cannot have enough! Good texture, great taste (don't skip mixing halfway through) and nice heat. Like another reviewer said: Please don’t ever get rid of this!

I tried this meal out recently when I had the option to eat something else if it wasn't good. Usually I can't handle much spice. But fantastic surprise for me because this meal has the most wonderful flavor and texture and although it is spicy, it is mild enough that I can deal with it and even savor it! Now that I am a fan of these meals, I have gotten deliberate about making the water fully boiling, adding the right amount, and stirring fully before waiting the right time for dehydrating. When it is time to check on it, I add a little more hot water if necessary to create just a bit of sauce but not too much. Following the directions makes the right texture of pasta. I love that the cheese is not the same flavor as the Mac and cheese of childhood. I appreciate that this meal isn't overly huge so that I can eat it and have something on the side or for dessert. I also appreciate that it is a vegetarian option. All around very tasty and impressive. I will restock.

Great flavor. Minus a star because it the texture was off, the cheese was very clumpy and there was a lot of excess water.

I HATE that this was changed from the former version! I loved the previous lower calorie, lower weight, pepper jack version. It was perfect! This one describes it as pepper jack cheese, but clearly now says cheddar on the front of the package. I've had to return from places that send new one when the old version is shown.

Loved this meal. It was delicious with the Hatch chilies. It had just the right amount of spice to make it interesting. Texture was great. Loved that it was a single portion so there was no messing with leftovers or messing around to put half of a dry meal in a zip lock (and inhaling the powder!).

I love when I can find single serve meals! The hatch green chili mac and cheese has a consistent flavor from bag to bag and cooks up really well. I've never had a crunchy noodle out of one of these meals. The cheese does not blend in to the sauce well and sticks to my spork but the flavor is so good that I honestly don't mind it. This is also a very forgiving meal if you add a little too much water. This meal is my favorite trail breakfast.
