Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, but it was way better than I thought it was going to be. Will definitely buy again. Just wish I had some garlic bread to go with it 😜

Well here goes. I purchased a storage locker that contained a vast quantity of freeze dried foods. Included was 5 packages of The Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. The best by date is 8/10/22 so the product was past that date by approx. 3 1/2 years. The packaging is a bit different 7.5oz and makes 2 servings. Well I thought what the heck and made a package according to the instructions. I was blown away at just how good this stuff is. I can't imagine it tasting better if I would have eaten it by the best buy date. I added a teaspoon of butter after I made it. It goes to show you that they must be using quality ingredients and packaging this stuff properly! Just buy it!

Instead of packing sandwiches for a long day hike, I threw my stove in the pack along with Backpackers Supply entree, Pesto Pasta with Chicken. The small penne pasta was perfect after about 15 minutes of set time, along with the chicken and pesto it was a gourmet meal, so glad I didn’t have to share it. 🙂

Definitely one of the best meals BP offers. Has good protein content too.

I purchased quite a few of the Backpacker's Pantry meals and I must say that none of them disappointed. I look forward to trying others but for now my favorites were the fettuccini alfredo, 3 cheese mac and cheese, lasagna, and Pad Thai. They taste fresh and you can tell are made with quality ingredients! With some dehydrated meals I find my stomach gets upset or there is an aftertaste, but this was not the case with these ! I did notice there were some chunks that were a little tougher or didn't rehydrate as much as the rest but that could be user error with amount of water or cook time.... Honestly, It's a no brainer, order from them for your next trip!

Really like this one. Needs a bit longer to rehydrate and a touch more water, we find.

My hubby and I have split this pouch meal a few times now since after some pre-dinner snacking neither of us can finish the whole meal solo. (The 2 serving size pouch- I think I could eat a single serving pouch.) The creamy pasta is good and the nutritional value / calories are high— all good things. However, the chicken pieces (mostly cubes) are sort of forgettable chewy bland blocks we just soldier through to get some protein and more satiation. Still overall enjoyable and I like adding crushed red pepper and maybe Parmesan to this.

So I’m so glad I found these and they were light weight easy to carry in my bags and easy to make! Just like an MRE but with real ingredients! I was so impressed by how easy these were to prepare with just a jet boil or a tea kettle and just letting it sit to cook! This meal was delicious! The reason I gave it 4/5 stars because I had to play with the amount of time to let it sit and water but each time I ate this meal it got better and better. I will NEVER go to the field without a backpackers pantry meal. And I look forward to trying more and letting more Soldiers know about you! I’ll be buying more!

This was the perfect meal after a long day snowshoeing. I hit the spot and warmed me up.

These meals will fuel my recumbent trike tour of Michigan starting in May 2024, great tasting meals and a great company willing to help make dreams come true! Well done!

I eat just about anything, so I may not be the best judge on taste and quality of the food, but my girlfriend is picky and she enjoyed the Fettucine. I definitely like the amount of protein offered and the ease of making it, too. Definitely, going to pick up some more to restock the supply.

I just picked up a pack of this today, and it was quite tasty. It is my first taste of Backpacker's Pantry. It is great for a quick meal when time is short. I bought this for my dooms day stock, but we wanted to try it out. I will be buying more. Now I need to try other entrees. I recommend this product and brand.

Ohh my way better than expected. A new favorite on the trail. Definitely enough food for 2.

The food tastes great but my recent order has smaller packages with significantly less food while the cost is still high. I am NOT happy about this. I was not told I would be getting less and I am used to the traditional size and preparation process. Most companies are doing this but THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT OK. I want the traditional size package which is not what I got.

My friends and I loved this meal. It was so much food we nearly couldn't finish. The flavour was fantastic. I would definitely purchase this again.

Took this bikepacking and it was tasty and filling. I ate the entire bag myself and was full and content. Ordering again!

This is a great tasting meal, but the new size is only 80% of last years! We need lots of calories when backpacking. Five stars for flavor, two stars for making them smaller. Bring back the old size, please. And while you are at it, bring back the pesto salmon with pasta, that was amazing.

Taste is comparable to other companies. Not enough chicken but then none of you do. I will buy again.

Flavorful and hearty meal.

This has a large portion, is very filling and it tastes terrific! I eat this meal at home and on the trail, it's that good!

You will not regret trying this meal. Our 18 yr old daughter is picky and loves it. Our 9 yr old thought it was great as well. Definitely will purchase more. Our daughter has her own trips planned and this will for sure be in her pack list. Thank you for making this delicious meal very impressive.

I ate 12 of these in the field last month and I swear they got better every day!

Honestly i can say this is the best freeze dried meal i have ever had i wish i could give it more stars.

This has been one of my all-time favorite backpacking meals for a while now. I've recently started using add-ons to make it even better. Hot sauce and an olive oil packet gives it a little extra kick, and a little creamier texture. Also (and this one is a game changer), try adding bacon bits or your favorite beef jerky as the last step. You won't regret it.
