This is definitely not my favorite. The flavor was ok but it didn't seem to rehydrate completely. The beef pieces were like chewing wet cardboard.

Tasted pretty good for a freeze dried meal. Was a little difficult to find any beef.

Yummy!

Our son said the taste was quite unlikeable while on a nine day trek.

It was OK

I was puzzled why this single serving had more volume than a double serving entry when prepared. Flavor was OK, but too much like bouillon for my tastes. Rather Meh

Saved me in the 100 mile Wilderness

These meals are easy to make and taste great. I was doing really long days with tons of miles and having the confidence that I could have a high quality, high calorie, tasty meal at the end of the day was key!

Wouldn't recommend

Tasted like dog food to be honest. Got it on sale when it was still Shepards potatoes with beef and still not worth it for the sale price.

Not Edible

I was very thankful that I tried this product before taking it out on the trail. I followed the instructions, but still it turned out to be non-edilble. I couldn't exactly describe the flavor, but it wasn't good, and so I ended up throwing it out. The good thing was that I was at home when I sampled the product and so I had other options for dinner last night.

SALT!

So if I was depending on these for survival, I'd have to eat 14.5 packages to meet my daily 4800 calorie requirements in winter conditions. That's 22,836 mg of sodium! Almost 11 times the recommended daily amount! If the elements don't kill me, these surely will!

Mashed potatoes and gravy

I will use Backpackers Pantry again. I throughly enjoyed this entree and as I mostly solo camp, the portion was just right which means I don’t have to pack out leftovers.

Products came dirty

I purchased a couple cases of different pouches and had to clean them all as they all came coated in a different power or food from a flavor that I did not order. I wiped everything down but some of them still have a bit of a spice smell to them. I was a little disappointed as this will make storing them a little more difficult now that they may attract bugs.

Potatos?

I have enjoyed nearly every BP meal I have tried, sadly, the best description I can give this is it taste like flavored glue.

Good fuel

I prepared this following the directions at 10,700' on a bike packing trip. I stirred it well, and gave it about 35-minutes to steep while I set up camp. It re-hydrated well, and was hot and tasty after a long day in the saddle. I'm not sure about the two servings in the pouch though. I ate the whole package, which was just right. I'm usually looking for 600-1000 calories in a meal after a full day.

One of their best in my opinion

No complaints tastes great, easy to digest and rehydrate

barely edible

This was just a notch above gross. The potatoes were ok the beef was just hard and powdery even after 30 minutes. I won't order this one again
